Monthly Recap: May 2017

Listened to:

This month I re-doscovered some old favourite songs. Stacie Orrico's "Stuck", Elif's "Nichts tut für immer weh", Adele's "Chasing Pavements", Bruno Mars' "Grenade", Howie Day's "Collide" ... And I literally listened through Filtr Sweden's Fresh RnB Playlist on Spotify over and over and over again. Especially Beyoncé's "Shining".

Read:

  • Khaled Hosseini - The Kite Runner
    • It is simply a must-read for everyone. The story is heart-wrecking, the characters very true to themselves and Hosseinis clear writing style just honest. Reading The Kite Runner was really touching but actually I liked his A Thousand Splendid Suns better. I still remember how hard I cried reading his second novel.

Furthermore I read various scientific articles for my Bachelor thesis. Yeah, fun.

Watched:

  • Gangster Squad
    • Forgot that I watched that movie already. Well, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together in a movie never can be a bad choice.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
    • It was fun and definitely not a bad sequel. But yeah ... As always: The first movie is always the best. Volume 2 was simply too predictable.
  • Modern Family
    • Hahaha, I love it, Modern Family is so hilarious. I especially love Gloria, she's my spirit animal. At least one of them.

What I ate:

After my graduation project I just treated myself with a bunch of good food. I made selfmade sushi with my best friend, met Steffi for an iced coffee, had some Russian samosa-like things and Phở (without cilantro!) on two dates, lots of white wine spritzer (such a strange word in English), many fabulous self-made salads (people following me on Instagram know what I am talking about) and finally had a Banana Food Festival with my Bananas again. Haaa... Nothing makes me happier than food.

Feelings & Thoughts:

So many things happened this month.

I finally finished my Bachelor's graduation project, got my confirmation at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, booked my trips to Seoul, Hong Kong and Macau and it is finally summer in Berlin!

It's strange that everything is through. Those last months were an emotional rollercoaster and it is just a relief that everything ended. As I said in my last monthly recap I decided to make some changes. I cut ties with toxic relationships and have promised to myself to be honest from now an. Honest to myself. It is really time to focus on myself again: to go out, to meet new people, to enjoy life. And so far it is getting better. Who would have known.
